The VW4012 is a real-time H.264 SD decoder and MPEG-1,-2,-4 audio/video/ system CODEC chip (simultaneous encode/decode) that fully complies with the following standards: MPEG-1, MPEG-2 MP@ML, MPEG-4 ASP Part 2 Level 5, H.263 baseline for encoding, and MPEG-1, MPEG-2 MP@ML, MPEG-4 ASP Part 2 Level 5, H.263 baseline and H.264 HPa/ MP/BP Level 3.0 for decoding. The VW4012 accepts uncompressed ITU-R. BT-656 video and I2S audio, it com-presses the video into MPEG-1,-2,-4 or H.263 format, it compresses the audio into MPEG-1 L1, L2, MP3, AAC LC, AC-3, G.711, G.723.1a, G.726 or G.729 audio format, and outputs them as transport stream for network applications or program stream for storage applications. In addition, the VW4012 accepts an MPEG-1,-2 -4 / H.263 / H.264 bit stream input, and out-puts ITU-R.BT-656 video, and it also accepts an MPEG-1 L1, L2, MP3, AAC LC, AAC HE, AC-3, G.711, G.723.1a, G.726 or G.729 audio bit stream input, and outputs audio through I2S, S/P-DIF or IEC-61937.
